In 1948, as a young man, Dick Stack was pursuing his dream of playing professional baseball when an injury derailed his athletic aspirations. But his passion for sports continued burning bright. That same year, Dick and his father Richard opened a small bait-and-tackle shop in Binghamton, NY – naming it after Dick himself.
Our story had humble beginnings. In those early days Dick Stack could often be found behind the counter himself, chatting with customers and providing tips on the local fishing spots. But his tireless work ethic, innovative spirit and obsession with serving fellow sports enthusiasts planted the seeds for major growth in the decades that followed.
